Perfection in a Pop!
When my husband lovingly stared into my eyes and proclaimed “I Do” in front of friends and family, he might as well have been saying “I Do...understand that you are an absolute lost cause in the kitchen but love you all the more for trying.” Despite my personal numerous failed attempts playing with sugar and spice, I hold a high respect for those that are downright creative and successful in the kitchen. One of my many guilty pleasures is flipping through Hello, Cupcake and similar books at Anthropolgie. Who knew you could make cupcakes resembling cute little frogs and snow globes?!
In lieu of washing dishes tonight, I instead opted to surf the web indulging myself in sweet little slices, or in this case “pops”, of heaven. If only I had known about these little buggers for our own wedding! These seem easy enough to make (even for the most hopeless bakers) and are absolutely adorable favors for Bridal Showers or Weddings. Best of all, Cake Pops fit the mold of the “less is more” mentality that society seems to be currently embracing. Similar to the Mini Indulgences that Seasons 52 offers, Cake Pops grace their recipient with just enough sweetness to achieve satisfaction sans the “I’m about to burst” feeling that often accompanies a full slice of cake. Perfection in a Pop!
Simply typing in “Cake Pops” to a Google search will yield thousands of pages and images. My personal favorite article was from www.Bakerella.com. Not only does the author provide a detailed explanation on how to create Wedding Cake Pops, but a super sweet proposal tags along for the ride. :)
